I was glad to stay here after a tough day. Good beer, food and bedroom. Spent the evening with some 3 peaks challenge people and a nice volunteer for the event.

What a disappointment. The basic room was bearable but the facilities they advertise on the National Trails Association are not correct. My husband rang to confirm that they had drying facilities as advertised and was told yes but on arrival they fiercely denied the conversation and that they advertised such a thing.
The advert on National Trails says they provide washing and drying but be warned they provide neither .

Large comfortable room with shower and sink, bathroom nearby. Lots of room plus ample tea and coffee. Staff initially cold but thawed as we got to know them. Lamb Henry followed by cheese and biscuits/ginger pudding all very tasty and filling. Reasonable if unimaginative breakfast (not before 8.30). Need to book table at busy times. Very handy for PW.

This is an old fashioned style village inn, not an updated bijou made over one. The good beer, friendly landlady, chatty locals and super reasonably priced bar food -e.g. venison casserole with cheese mash - more than make up for small rooms and small en suite showers, plus if you want a hot bath there is a large common bathroom too. Don't mind the 8.30 sharp breakfast as pub is right on the path itself and if you are packed and ready to settle the bill as soon as you finish you can be on your Pway by 9ish if you want. Very basic but the food was nice and well presented.
Overall value for money, but only because it was cheap

Simply furnished room but very comfortable. Ensuite bath was welcome after a long and arduous day. Agree with all the previous comments made about the food: great value and very generous portions. We asked to have breakfast early and they were happy to accommodate us.

Good warm welcome, good beers reasonable accomodation & food. Just off the path and the right distance from Malham. Don't forget to sign the Pennine Way register on your way to this place!

Had a great stay here, the Lamb Shank was absolutely gorgeous and very filling, but welcome after a hard day. Contrary to last person's comments, the packed lunch was one of the best on the Pennine Way

A lively pub in the evening with plenty of good food, accommodation is simple but comfortable. However they simply refuse to cook breakfast before 8:30am and I think this is pretty poor for a place that considers itself as a pub for walkers. No packed lunch available but there is the PO and the café.

A good, lively village pub with good food and a great atmosphere. has the advantage of being right on the route.
