Comments by walkers who stayed at Newlands House in Great Broughton on The Cleveland Way
The welcome at Newlands House is very friendly. We were late arriving and Barbara told us she was thinking of sending Keith to look for us, something he has apparently done for guests before! The needs of walkers are well understood here as Keith is a walker himself. The accommodation was spotless and very comfortable and we had a very enjoyable breakfast. We found the Osmotherley to Clay Bank walk quite tough (we aren't very experienced walkers) and would have been simply too tired to walk the 2 miles into Great Broughton, but Barbara and Keith will pick you up from Clay Bank Top and drop you off there again the next morning, which is really helpful.

What a stunning B and B! The owners were charming, happy to pick me up and return me to clay bank top. They went to much trouble to dry out my soaking gear too. The bathroom is indeed huge, and the bedroom was very good. I also agree with the previous comment about breakfast, I can highly recommend this place.

Lovely place to stay, so friendly and welcoming, and we also had an absolutely wonderful, huge bathroom! Also the best coffee I had anywhere.

Stayed here 19th June 2004. We were picked up and dropped back off at Clay Bank Top which saved a 2 mile walk each way and was worth the 1.50 each charge. The bathroom was great, the food good and plentiful and Barbara and Keith were easy to chat with and good hosts. Jet Miners Arms was a good place to eat in the evening. Would recommend this B&B.

A great B&B. Fabulous en-suite bathroom and a novel built-in double bunk bed. Very clean and comfortable. Highly recommended

I was a little hesitant to book here as there were no walker`s reviews at the time of my booking but I neednt of worried, Barbara and Keith could not have been more charming or the B&B more comfortable. The brand new bathroom of the ensuite was bigger than some rooms that we stayed of joys, with your own bath to luxuriate in (or shower if you prefer). Home-made cake and tea on arrival, recommendations for local pubs (3 pubs all close-by) and it was no problem whatsoever when we asked for breakfast at 7.30am the next day and a lift to Clay Bank Top (1 per person). An excellent breakfast and a huge pot of fresh coffee to kick start us in the morning. I would highly recommend this B&B - one of the best among a pretty good bunch.
